The Nikkor AF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 G IF-ED DX is a gold ring lens indicating a professional grade Nikon lens for F-mount DSLRs. It is a designated DX lens with a reduced image circle - a rare combination of properties. Not many manufacturers offer high-end dedicated crop lenses.
Please note that we have updated this review to incorporate our results for full-frame testing. Introduction Released in 2007, the 14-24mm Æ’/2.8 AF-S is a full-frame lens designed as a wide-angle
This is an in-depth review of the Nikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G VR lens that was released back in August 2006 together with the Nikon D80. The Nikon 70-300mm VR lens is targeted towards sports, nature and wildlife photographers that need a lightweight, versatile telephoto lens with great optics and vibration reduction technology, at an affordable price.
Nikon D750 – AF-S Nikkor 28-70mm 1:2.8D Once you hit f/4, the fall-off and vignetting is all but gone from the 28mm mark and only slightly present at 70mm. Nikon D750 – AF-S Nikkor 28-70mm 1:2.8D Completely gone by f/8, plus getting some good depth-of-field at 28mm and some excellent subject separation at 70mm.
If it is "AF-S 24-70mm f / 2.8 G ED VR" you are talking about, be aware that the focus motor often needs to be changed p.gr.a. wear if it is used over many years. Personally I do not want to walk around with the old 24-70 / 2.8G + FTZ on a vacation, due to weight and size.
The 35mm f/1.8G is an excellent lens with only two things that are likely to cause you concern: the vignetting wide open and the lower performance at f/1.8 (resolved almost immediately at f/2). The vignetting is correctable in post processing (or even in camera with many Nikon DSLRs).
With the latter, manual override works without the need to wait for AF to lock onto a subject, as well as being available in AI Servo mode. A crucial advantage over the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens for handheld shooting is that the Sigma features an effective, four-stop optical stabiliser.
Measurement: Super sharp, f/4 to f/11. Overall DxOMark scores for the Tokina 24-70mm f/2.8 Nikon range from a top score of 32 points on the 36Mp D800E, dropping to 28 points on the 24Mp D600 / D750, and 20 points on the 12Mp D700 / D3. The lower scores achieved on the DSLRs with fewer pixels is almost completely due to its lens sharpness
